The valley of the most beautiful Slovenian river and the peaks of the Julian Alps invite you into their embrace: on excursions, hiking and cycling tours, sightseeing and carefree lounging by the emerald pools. They invite you to an experience that creates unforgettable memories. Road congestion and noise do not belong in this sensitive natural environment, which falls under the auspices of the Julian Alps biosphere area.
In order to reduce the traffic load, take advantage of the summer offer of public transport in the Soča Valley.
Check out the rich list of Hop-on Hop-offs and Shuttle connections and other (cross-border) lines:

By train and motorail train along the BOHINJ RAILWAY
(NG)—MOST NA SOČI—PODBRDO—BOHINJ. BISTRICA—BLED—JESENICE—(LJ)
A ride along the Bohinj Railway, one of the most beautiful railway lines in the Alps, is an experience in itself. The line connects Gorenjska with the Soča Valley and runs through the Bohinj Tunnel, across numerous bridges and through the picturesque Bača Valley.
An motorail train also operates between Bohinjska Bistrica, Podbrdo, Most na Soči and Nova Gorica. You can load your car, van, pick-up truck or motorhome onto the motorail train; passengers without a car and cyclists can also travel on it.
Vehicles may be up to 3 metres high and up to 2.4 metres wide. Transport of motorcycles, motor tricycles and mopeds on the motorail train is not permitted.
Due to the limited number of wagons, we recommend arriving at the station in good time. Places are filled on a first-come, first-served basis, and vehicle loading at most stations closes 10 minutes before the train departs.
Before travelling, please check the current motorail train timetable and any notices about changes on the line.
Holders of the destination card can use a free return ticket for the passenger train from the following boarding stations:
Most na Soči
Podbrdo
Bohinjska Bistrica
Nomenj
The exit station may be any station on the route towards Nova Gorica or Ljubljana. Each destination card holder is entitled to one return ticket for the selected route.
Holders of the destination card can use a 5% discount on the motorail train ticket (the discount applies to the car + driver ticket price).
A bus connection to Tolmin is organised from Most na Soči railway station. Please check the current bus timetable in the operators’ timetable search engine.
