Tolmin Gorges

The Tolmin gorges are the lowest and southernmost entry point into the Triglav National Park and Tolmin’s most important sight of nature.

  • The wedged rock named Bear's Head
  • The Devil’s Bridge, set 60 metres high above the Tolminka River
  • The cave of Zadlaška jama (Dante’s cave)
  • The thermal spring in the the cave under the Devil’s bridge
  • The Confluence of the Tolminka and the Zadlaščica, the lowest point of The Triglav National Park

Starting point:

Visitors can drive to the parking lot of the Tolmin gorges by car. The distance from Tolmin is 2 km. There is shuttle bus from Tolmin to Tolmin Gorges in July and August.

Guided tour

For individuals guided tours are organised every Monday in July and August at 11:15.
The price is 1,00 € per person + entry ticket.
The duration is 1,5 - 2 hours.

Public transport to the Tolmin Gorge and Javorca

Tolmin Shuttle Bus mapFrom 30 June till 31 August 2018 we offer public transport from Tolmin to Tolmin Gorge and in the opposite direction.

The purpose of the organized transport is to relieve the road from Zatolmin and the overcrowded parking lot in the Tolmin Gorge.

The minibus (for up to 20 persons) will ride every full hour between 10.00 and 16.00 from the big parking place next to the Brajda sports park in Tolmin. The return ride from the Tolmin Gorges is 10 min after each full hour.

 

In July and August we also organize public transport to Javorca and back for 1,00 EUR per ride.

The minibus (for up to 20 persons) will drive every Saturday and Sunday and on the 15th of August. Between the 22nd of June and 26th of August also on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Te departure from the big parking place next to the Brajda sports park in Tolmin is at 10.40.
The return ride from Javorca is at 13.30.
