14th hike on the Thematic Trail On My Own Land | Soča Valley Hiking & Biking Festival

The trail connects the heritage of the first Slovenian full-length sound feature film, permanently inscribed into the landscape of the Baška grapa valley with thematic boards placed at locations where the most important scenes were filmed in 1948.
Each year, the content of the hike is enriched with a current theme, allowing hikers to also discover the cultural and technical heritage of the area.

PRICE:
€15 per person (includes guided tour, cultural program, souvenir, snack at the end of the hike)
€8 for members of KTT DBD
Programme:
- 9.00–10.00 registration of hikers
- 10.00 – short presentation of TpNSZ and opening greetings (short excerpts from the film, visit to the themed room, etc.)
- 10.20 – start of the hike from themed board 1 to 6, including a cultural programme
- 15.00 – end of the hike, refreshments and social gathering
- Guest: a guest from the acting/film world or a renowned musician
Hikers are rewarded with wonderful views offered by the diverse landscape along the route between Grahovo ob Bači and Koritnica.
The content of the hike is enriched with additional cultural points that highlight the local history of the area.
Local tourist guides will present the following stories:
- cultural heritage (Ivan Kokošar – priest and composer, sand painter Stanka Golob, the story of the first beekeeping society for the Cerkljansko, Goriška and Tolmin areas, founded in Grahovo ob Bači in 1908),
- film heritage (Rudi Bašelj – The Only Way Out, documentary film Plamen v dvonožcu, themed boards along the route),
- technical heritage (pilot Jože Lapanja, the Bohinj Railway, pioneers of hang gliding in the Tolmin area);
During the hike, excerpts will be read from the following works:
- France Štiglic, Notes on the Making of the Film “On Our Own Land”;
- Ciril Kosmač, the novella Očka Orel, the basis for the film On Our Own Land;
- we will also mark the 120th anniversary of the construction of the Bohinj Railway.
As part of the European Heritage Days programme – theme: Heritage in the vortex of change – opportunities and challenges: the Roman wall in Zarakovec, the old church, the Church of St Anne, the National Liberation War memorial plaque to hostages in Grahovo ob Bači, and the monument to fallen National Liberation War fighters in Koritnica (1972).
The entire hike will be accompanied by an accordion player.
