16th Hike along the Bevk Trail | Soča Valley Hiking & Biking Festival

The hike is part of the European Heritage Days 2026 (Heritage in a Changing World – Opportunities and Challenges) and the Soča Valley Hiking and Cycling Festival 2026.
This year, the 16th Hike along the Bevk Trail will once again connect the Baška Grapa Valley and Zakojca as part of the traditional Bevk Days. The KTT Baška Dediščina Association is taking part in the organisation for the sixteenth consecutive year. This year’s hike is dedicated to the memory of Zofka Kveder and Fanica Obid, with the latter being particularly associated with the Kosovel Year 2026. We will mark the 120th anniversary of the Bohinj Railway with Bevk’s book The Iron Snake.

MEETING POINT:
At 9:00, Hudajužna 22b (Community Centre – Bevk Trail information point)
DURATION:
1.5 hours (from Hudajužna – Community Centre)
EQUIPMENT:
Hiking footwear, walking poles (optional)
PRICE:
- full price: EUR 7
- reduced price: EUR 4 if the hiker brings any book by France Bevk
- free of charge: if the hiker brings France Bevk’s book The Iron Snake
Programme
- 9:00 Reception of participants, welcome and souvenir.
Remember: one Bevk book = a reduced entry fee! - 9:30 Cultural programme at the starting point (guest: Justin Kogoj Men’s Choir from Dolenja Trebuša) and along the route (readings from Bevk’s works and guided interpretation);
- 11:30 Arrival in Zakojca and cultural event
- 12:30 Bevk lunch (Pri Flandru Tourist Farm)

By train:
Hudajužna (Baška Grapa Valley – Municipality of Tolmin) can also be reached by train from Nova Gorica and from the direction of Ljubljana–Jesenice.
By road:
1. Škofja Loka – Železniki – Podbrdo – Hudajužna
2. Nova Gorica – Most na Soči – Bača pri Modreju – Hudajužna
