PARTIAL AND COMPLETE ROAD CLOSURES ON VRŠIČ PASS

Due to the reconstruction of the state road and the arrangement of parking lots, there are complete and partial road closures over the Vršič Pass on weekdays.
The Municipality of Bovec received a notification from the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency (DRSI) on March 19, 2025, regarding the permit for the PARTIAL AND FULL ROAD CLOSURE of the R1-206/1043 RUSKA CESTA (ERIKA – VRŠIČ) and R1-206/1028 VRŠIČ – TRENTA due to the RECONSTRUCTION OF THE NATIONAL ROAD AT THE TOP OF THE VRŠIČ PASS.
With this, the Municipality is officially informed that the company Gorenjska gradbena družba d. d., on behalf of the investor, the Slovenian Infrastructure Agency, will resume the reconstruction of the regional road, including drainage and parking arrangements in the area of the Vršič Pass summit.
For this purpose, road closures are planned in the Vršič Pass summit area between March 31, 2025, and June 14, 2025,
specifically on the following sections of national roads R1-206/1043 Ruska cesta (Erika – Vršič), from km 8.575 to km 8.948, andR1-206/1028 Vršič – Trenta, from km 0.000 to km 0.330.
- During this period, full road closures will be in effect from Monday to Friday between 07:30 and 17:00.
- Partial closures will be in place on weekends and outside working hours.
During partial closures, traffic will be regulated with traffic lights and will proceed alternately in one direction. Full closures are not planned for weekends and are not permitted on public holidays.
During full closures, a detour will be arranged via the road Kranjska Gora—Rateče—Predel—Bovec.
