An inspiring story about sport, people and values that go far beyond the finish line.
During this lecture, Andrej Hauptman will offer a unique insight into the world of professional cycling, sharing his sporting and coaching journey—from his successful career as an elite cyclist to his current role as Sports Director of UAE Team Emirates XRG, one of the world's most successful cycling teams.
Through personal stories, experiences from the world's biggest races, and his work with today's top riders—including Tadej Pogačar—he will explain how championship performances are built, the importance of teamwork, discipline, motivation and trust, and why commitment, perseverance and long-term planning are essential for success.
The lecture provides a rare behind-the-scenes look at professional cycling, the development of Slovenian cyclists, and daily life within the team at races such as the Tour de France, Giro d'Italia, and Vuelta a España.
The presentation will be followed by a discussion with the audience and an opportunity to ask questions.
