More than a century ago, the First World War left a deep scar on the area between the Alps and the Adriatic. The south-western front was opened, part of which was the Isonzo Front. Here, the Italian and Austro-Hungarian armies clashed and fought fierce battles for 29 months.
Through a narrative that intertwines historical facts with personal insights, experience a soldier’s everyday life and enter his thoughts, fears and fragile moments of humanity amid the war. On the Kolovrat ridge, where every stone, trench and view has its own story, the past comes to life again.
The experience includes:
- an interactive guided tour accompanied by two history experts, filled with stories, little-known details and personal accounts from the front
- lunch or dinner served in a military mess tin: a traditional stew with sausage or venison goulash with corn polenta, subject to prior arrangement, a refreshing drink and dessert
- a commemorative gift and a group photograph with the soldier

- Meeting point: car park next to the Kolovrat Outdoor Museum (participants must arrange their own transport to the location)
- Recommended age: 14+
- Restrictions: not suitable for persons with disabilities
