Children aged 6 to 15 will create artworks on the theme of the Soča trout in the Tolminka and Soča rivers under the guidance of academic painter and mentor of the Tolmin Association of Visual Artists. Painting and drawing materials will be provided; clothing that can get dirty is recommended. The Fish Market remains the central event of the Soča Trout Festival, where we aim to promote fish as a high-quality food source. By presenting local providers, we also enable the development of shorter supply chains and the creation of new products and sales opportunities.

Visitors can expect a diverse program on Mestni trg in Tolmin on Saturday, April 11, starting from 9:00.

A bilingual cooking spectacle featuring the preparation of fish dishes in front of an audience (so-called show cooking) will be presented by master chefs Valter Kramar from Kobarid and Cristian Borchi from Vicchio. As the municipalities of Tolmin and Vicchio in Tuscany, Italy, celebrate the 45th anniversary of their twinning this year, Vicchio will have a special presentation at the Fish Market.

Visitors will also be able to watch awarded films from a thematic competition and enjoy musical performances by the Tolmin Wind Orchestra and Fiddle Gang (TerraFolk duo). The program will be complemented by a children's art workshop led by academic painter Jana Dolenc, a clay workshop for children and adults led by ceramist Gregor Maver, an art extempore with a final exhibition in the nearby Grajski vrt café, and open days at Tolmin Museum and the Faronika Fish Farm.
