20. 9. 2025 / Bovec
As part of the Soča Valley Hiking and Cycling Festival, you are invited to the Road Cycling Tour between the Soča River and the Julian Alps.
Meeting point: Bovec Airfield (bar next to the fire station)
Duration: 5–6 hours

Equipment: Road bike, helmet, water bottle. Rental of a road bike possible – 60 EUR (with prior reservation).
Price: 300 EUR (includes guide, support vehicle, snacks)
Distance: 88 km

The tour starts in Bovec and leads past the Kluže Fortress towards the Predel Pass. After descending into Italy, the route continues through Tarvisio to Kranjska Gora, where we will treat ourselves with a slice of cake or an ice cream. The highlight of the tour is the ascent to Vršič (1,611 m), the highest mountain pass in Slovenia. The descent takes us through the Trenta Valley, and the route finishes back in Bovec along the Soča River.
This is one of the most demanding, yet also one of the most iconic cycling tours in the Julian Alps, combining two famous mountain passes with attractive ascents and descents.
