15th Hike along the Bevk Trail | Soča Valley Hiking & Biking Festival

The event takes place as part of the Bevk Days 2025, which annually commemorate the birth and death of France Bevk, one of our greatest literary figures.
At the start, hikers are introduced to the Baška grapa valley through a short cultural program (with emphasis on Hudajužna – the chapel of St. Barbara and the information point). Along the route from Hudajužna to Zakojca, we read excerpts from Bevk’s works, selected by the hikers themselves.
The hike and cultural event (at 11:30) at his birthplace in Zakojca, where hikers from both directions meet, is a unique opportunity to connect various institutions and providers working in the field of cultural and literary tourism.

9:30 in Hudajužna (Community Center – Bevk Trail Info Point)
DURATION:
1.5 hours (from Hudajužna – Community Center)

Hiking shoes, poles (optional)

5 EUR (includes guided tour, cultural program, information leaflet)

Program
- 9:00: Welcome at the start – Community Center in Hudajužna
- 9:30: Short cultural program – literary performances by society members and the Razor Singing Group
- 11:30: Zakojca (France Bevk’s homestead) – cultural program, welcome by the local tourist association, free guided tour of the homestead
- 12:30: Bevk-style lunch at the Flandr Tourist Farm in Zakojca

Hudajužna (Baška grapa – Municipality of Tolmin) is accessible by train from Nova Gorica and from the Ljubljana – Jesenice direction.
By car:
- Škofja Loka – Železniki – Podbrdo – Hudajužna
- Nova Gorica – Most na Soči – Bača pri Modreju – Hudajužna
The hike is also part of the European Heritage Days under the slogan: Walls of our past, foundations of our future.
