Within the framework of the International Alpine Flower Festival, which takes place every year in Bohinj, one can also get acquainted with now rare and interesting plants in the Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden in the Trenta Valley.
In view of the lively geological processes in the past, the diversity of rocks and climate, Slovenia is certainly one of the richest regions in Europe as far as plants are concerned. It is home to species that reach the extreme limit of their distribution here, as well as to plants that cannot be found outside our country. Many are endangered owing to the disappearance of suitable habitats and are therefore protected. During the guided tour, you will learn about protected, rare and endemic
plants thriving in Slovenia.
