Bogy Urevc: Animal inhabitants of the Julian Alps Bogy Urevc: Animal inhabitants of the Julian Alps

The photography exhibition at the Triglav National Parc Infocenter Zelena hiša in Kobarid is dedicated to the more hidden inhabitants of the Julian Alps, the animals. The Triglav National Park is home to more than 7,000 animal species. Bogy Urevc has captured the most photogenic ones in his photographic lens. The exhibition will feature 30 photographs from his extensive body of work on animals in the mountain world. This is not an easy category of photography, but it is extremely telling and popular, and not only shows interesting animals in their natural habitat, but also raises awareness about the importance of nature conservation: first and foremost for the "original" inhabitants of our forests and mountains, and thus for humans.

Bogy_Urevc-__ivalski_prebivalci_Julijskih_Alp1.jpgBogy Urevc is a freelance photographer, member of the TNP Photo Club from Bled. He started to work more seriously in photography with the advent of digitalisation in the mid-1990s. He has collaborated with several photographic organisations, including National Geographic magazine (Chamois in the Julian Alps). The focus of his work is on animals in the mountain world and the landscape in all its aspects. His favourite places to spend his mornings and evenings are in the mountains. That's when the magical animal world comes alive and he can enter it and admire the animals in all their beauty. Close-ups require a lot of knowledge - not only photographic knowledge, but also knowledge of the animals' habitat and their ecology, a subtle, persistent, calm and undisturbed approach. The photographer does not disturb or hinder them, but still manages to take a great photo and is an undisputed master at it.
