One of the last works of Jože Plečnik, Slovenia’s greatest architect. An inventive reconstruction of the Church of St. Mary’s Call burned down by German soldiers during the II. world war. It stands on the remote and quiet plateau Šentviška planota.
The Church of Saint Mary in Ponikve is a masterpiece of architect Jože Plečnik, who succeeded in combining elements of the former church, which was burnt down during the war, with contemporary solutions, realising an exhilarating new structure.
