Alpine climbing is a special adventure. The walls in the Triglav national Park make wonderful scenery for everybody. However, Alpine climbing is recommended for experienced climbers. 

In the area of the Soča valley, you should visit the walls of the northern Primorska region. Loška stena is definitely the most impressive one; with its width of 7 km, it is one of the biggest stone walls in the Slovene mountains.

However, Bovec, Kobarid and Tolmin surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps, offer an excellent starting point for Alpine achievements of different levels of difficulty. Most walls and climbing routes on this side of the Alps are described on:

Hiking safety instructions in the Soča Valley

Make sure you are safe in the mountains and hike accompanied by a guide.

Check the weather forecast and other conditions along your route. Judge your physical and mental condition carefully. Don't forget to bring the recommended equipment, e.g.:

Wear appropriate clothing and footwear. Remember to take some food.
