A New, Free-of-Charge Parking Lot for the Tolmin Gorges “P2”

Parkirišče P2 tolminska korita Štrklepce 200pxThe parking lot “P1” in the immediate vicinity of the Tolmin Gorges gets quickly full due to an increased number of visitors. This is why we have organized a new, free-of-charge parking lot at the “Štrklepce” area, located at the edge of Tolmin, going in the direction to Zatolmin and the Tolmin Gorges.

In June, a free shuttle bus is organized from the parking lot “P2” to the Tolmin Gorges, during the weekends and holidays, between 10.00 and 16.00. In July and August, the bus is available every day. When the shuttle bus is not running, the visitors can go on foot from the parking lot “P2”, following the sidewalk to the village Zatolmin and then the signs for the Tolmin Gorges – app. 15 min of walking.

The parking lot “P2” also offers parking for buses. The buses can drop off the visitors at the entrance point to the Tolmin Gorges but are no longer allowed to park there.

The caravans are also no longer allowed to park at the parking lot “P1” at the entrance point to the Tolmin Gorges, but they can park free-of-charge at the parking lot “P2” between 7.00 and 22.00.

Parking "P1" payable between 6th of July and 30th of September

From 6th July to 30th September, the parking area "P1" at the entry point to the Tolmin Gorge is payable daily between 8 am and 6 pm. The parking fee is 7 € for 3 hours of parking.

  • The wedged rock named Bear's Head
  • The Devil’s Bridge, set 60 metres high above the Tolminka River
  • The cave of Zadlaška jama (Dante’s cave)
  • The thermal spring in the the cave under the Devil’s bridge
  • The Confluence of the Tolminka and the Zadlaščica, the lowest point of The Triglav National Park

Starting point:

Visitors can drive to the parking lot of the Tolmin gorges by car. The distance from Tolmin is 2 km. There is shuttle bus from Tolmin to Tolmin Gorges in July and August.

Guided tour

For individuals guided tours are organised every Monday in July and August at 13.00.
The price is 1,00 € per person + entry ticket.
The duration is 1,5 - 2 hours.

The purpose of the organized transport is to relieve the road from Zatolmin and the overcrowded parking lot in the Tolmin Gorge.
