Soča Valley Hiking Festival

Experience the palette of autumn colours in all its beauty and discover the monuments of the past under the guidance of experienced guides.

Alpe Adria Trail

Alpe-Adria-Trail connects the three regions of Carinthia, Slovenia and Friuli Venezia Giulia in a total of 43 stages.

Long-distance trails

Many connecting routes cross the mountains of the Soča Valley: the Alpe Adria Trail connects Grossglockner with sea through the valley. The Walk of Peace follows the battle lines of the First World War, whereas the Old Border Trail follows fortresses which were built between the two wars. The E7 European Long Distance Path crosses the entire valley, from the River Nadiža to Baška grapa.

Thematic and tourist trails

There are many circular and thematic trails, which acquaint visitors with the heritage of these places. It is possible to combine sightseeing with a walking or a hiking tour. It is also possible to go for a ramble in the woods and gorges, and there are plenty of footpaths leading to mountain villages above the valleys.

Mountain trails

The Soča Valley boasts the tallest and mightiest peaks of the Julian Alps. Marked trails lead from the valley to wild and untamed corners high in the mountains, including Triglav (2864 m), Slovenia's highest mountain.

Guidelines for safety and guides
