The info point of sustainable mobility is at Zelena hiša (the Green House) in Kobarid.
The purpose of the info point of sustainable mobility “Moved by Nature” is to expose the meaning of the use of sustainable mobility in the area of the Julian Alps (and wider), particularly from the viewpoint of directing visits – lowering the pressure of motor vehicles in the biosphere of the Julian Alps while encouraging environmentally friendly means of transport with a potentially smaller burden on the environment.
The Zelena hiša info point in Kobarid and the Centre of the Triglav National Park info point in Bohinj are a pilot project. The system of info points of sustainable mobility will also be established in other locations by interested shareholders.
The concept provides for:
- an animated wall map of the Julian Alps with the presentation of natural and cultural sights, exposing sustainable mobility and its offered use;
- an interactive website of sustainable mobility in the Julian Alps, which offers its users combinations of using soft mobility in this area;
- a short animated movie about visiting the Julian Alps without a private car with indigenous species of domestic animals as the main characters – cika cattle from Bohinj, sheep from Bovec, and goats from Drežnica (also available at the soft mobility in the Julian Alps website).
The info points of sustainable mobility will be established in co-operation with the partners of the project PARKIRAJ&DOŽIVI NARAVO! (PARK & EXPERIENCE NATURE!) The Triglav National Park and its six partner organisations were successful with this project at the call for applications by the EEA Financial Mechanism 2004–2009 Programme. The activities of the project are thus co-financed by the already mentioned programme, the Republic of Slovenia and the involved partners.
