Javorca, ceremony for the unveiling of the European Heritage Label plaque
Special traffic regime, attendance confirmation
It is a great honor to invite you to the ceremony for the unveiling of the European Heritage Label plaque, awarded to the Javorca Memorial Church. The European Heritage Label is the highest European award for common heritage, presented by the European Commission, which was awarded to the Javorca Memorial Church in December 2017. The ceremony named “Javorca, the Place of European Remembrance” will take place in next to the church on Friday, 11 May 2018 at 5:00 PM.
Mr. Karl Erjavec, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, will be the keynote speaker at the ceremony. The cultural programme will include the performances of Ms. Petra Kovačič, the first violin in the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, and internationally renowned choir Pueri Cantores from Tolmin.

Special traffic regime
When planning your journey bear in mind that a special traffic regime to access Javorca will apply on the event day. The parking area in Srednjica may be accessed by announced passenger vehicles only between 3:45 and 4:30 PM. Therefore, you are kindly requested to inform us in your attendance confirmation about the registration plate number of the vehicle you will be travelling with. It takes approximately an hour to arrive to the Church in Javorca from Tolmin, the remaining 20 minutes have to be travelled on foot.

After the event conclusion you are invited for snacks in the marquee.
The ceremony will take place regardeless of weather conditions.
