Other natural attractions Prestreljeniško okno This natural window in the Kanin mountains on the Slovenian-Italian border was formed as the rocky arch on Prestreljenik (2499 m) disintegrated. Alpinum Juliana, Alpine botanical garden This is Slovenia's first and only Alpine botanical garden in natural surroundings. It is protected as a monument of landscaped nature and a natural treasure of national importance. Mangartsko sedlo (2055 m) Mangartsko sedlo can be reached via the highest mountain road in Slovenia leading to the beauty spot with views of the Belopeški jezeri lakes at the northern foot of the mountain. The Koča na Mangartskem sedlu mountain cabin is situated under the pass. Mountain pass Vršič (1611 m) Slovenia's highest mountain pass with a road that links the Bovec area and Kranjska Gora makes for an excellent starting point for mountain hikes. Lime tree in the Rut village In the Rut village is one of the mightiest trees in the country, an old lime tree with a circumference of more than 8 metres. The Stone Mushroom Under the village of Krn stands an interesting stone mushroom. This natural monument is one of the most beautiful geomorphologic phenomena of this kind in Slovenia. Loška stena (higher than 2000 m) The longest mountain face in Slovenia and the Julian Alps is situated in the heart of the Triglav National Park, between Bavšica and Loška Koritnica. Kriški podi Kriški podi (2000 m and higher) is a mountain plateau over the Zadnjica valley in Trenta. This highly picturesque part of the Triglav National Park features several small lakes (the Kriška jezera lakes) and is surrounded by the peaks of the Julian Alps. Triglav (2864 m) Slovenia's highest mountain is surrounded by the tall peaks of the Julian Alps.
